How you feeling, Ron?

Cool! We go by there every morning on the way to work. You gonna make it on the 4th?

Doubtful. :( Living in Cookeville now and am usually busy seeing my family on the weekends.

As long as the scale is on level ground, your weight distribution will be the same whether you have just your front fenders over the scale or all of your truck except the back wheels over it.

Concur. Only thing I loathe about this weather is the humidity. I can walk for 5 minutes and where I carry a pistol, it's soaked in sweat.

BTW, now that I think about it, I'd almost be willing to bet that was a railroad work truck and not an airport limo. I recall reading something a while back about railroads using trucks like that and the Union Pacific is kind of a giveaway.

That would be neat, although the price seems a little steep. I'd never dream of cutting it up, but the doors sure would make it easy to convert a truck to an extended/crew cab.

Moving back to Cookeville. Cousin and I rented an apartment there yesterday.

Does anyone know of a cheap, reliable car for under $1000?

Sorry to hear that. :( Here's the Jeep I'm wanting to fix up. These pictures were taken in '78, so it's a lot rougher now. Ultimately, I want to restore it identically to how it is in the pictures with a few minor changes (better bumpers, winch, suspension, etc.). It's a '73 with a 304. http://img.p...

Got a kick out of this typo and had to post it. Owner states the engine's displacement is 302 cubic feet or 521,856 cubic inches. All that and it still gets 18 MPG on the highway.

A bodyshop in Sparta had some nice looking chrome 5 or 6 spoke wheels - I think they were 19" or 20" - 4 for $500. I didn't post them because they're in a Ford pattern.

Maybe. When ON got rid of these trucks a couple years ago, people that looked at them were saying most of them would take a lot of work to get on the road. I think there was a lot of bondo and small things.
